Under the same sky,thousands of miles apart.

After the protests in Hong Kong in 2019, some people left, some stayed, and some lost their freedom. Even scattered across the world, many of us have experienced the same feeling of loneliness. And we all know that loneliness is not easy to bear.

Once upon a time, we promised to stand together. I’m sure those words still ring in our ears.

Behind the prison walls, many of our fellow Hongkongers are enduring nights that are longer, quieter and lonelier than ours. Joshua is one of them.

Although we are thousands of miles apart, the physical distance means we cannot be there to hold one another close. But we believe that our hearts remain connected, and that our thoughts and love can still reach those far away.

So, here, let each of us leave a message for Joshua. It could be a little story, a personal reflection, a few lines from a song, or simply some words of gratitude and encouragement.

Let our voices travel across the walls and across time, reaching Joshua’s ears and accompanying him through every silent night that lies ahead, until the day he regains his freedom.
